OSCAR (Osteoclast-Associated Receptor) is a type I transmembrane immunoglobulin-like glycoprotein best known for its role as a costimulatory signal during osteoclast differentiation and bone resorption. It is also expressed on dendritic cells, monocytes, macrophages and neutrophils, where it couples to the FcRγ adaptor to drive pro-inflammatory signaling in models of rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune conditions. Researchers use this Assay Genie kit to quantify mouse OSCAR in harvested cell culture supernatants and tissue lysates, supporting studies of bone metabolism, joint inflammation, osteoimmunology and immune cell activation.
