Mouse Orexin ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this colorimetric sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of orexin levels in mouse samples. Orexin is a neuropeptide that regulates wakefulness and appetite, and its dysregulation has been implicated in sleep disorders, obesity, and neurological conditions, making it a relevant target for research into the sleep-wake cycle, energy balance, and related pathologies.

The kit uses a double-antibody sandwich ELISA format and is compatible with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. It offers a sensitivity of 4.688 pg/mL and a Range of 7.813-500 pg/mL. Reported linearity at a 1:2 dilution (n=5) is 94-101% for serum, 86-97% for EDTA plasma, and 85-103% for heparin plasma. Average recovery values are 100% for serum, 95% for EDTA plasma, and 98% for heparin plasma.

Components should be stored at 2-8°C for up to 12 months (with select items also storable at -20°C). The workflow involves equilibrating reagents to room temperature, loading standards and samples onto the pre-coated plate, sequential incubations with biotin-labeled detection antibody and HRP-streptavidin at 37°C, TMB color development, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm.
