Mouse Occludin (Ocln) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse occludin (Ocln) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant mouse occludin and is intended for research use only, supporting signal transduction research.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.9%, and an inter-assay CV of 8.5%. Linearity has been validated in serum (88–117%), EDTA plasma (80–117%), and heparin plasma (82–115%) across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16, with recovery of 85–97% in serum (average 91%) and 87–99% in plasma (average 93%).

Occludin is a multi-pass membrane protein localised to tight junctions of epithelial and endothelial cells, where it contributes to the formation and regulation of the tight junction paracellular permeability barrier. The protein interacts with TJP1/ZO1 and with VAPA, is highly expressed in kidney, and is not detected in testis. The associated UniProt entry is Q61146, with a reported molecular weight of 59,000 Da.
