The Nogo Receptor (NgR), also known as Reticulon-4 Receptor (RTN4R), is a GPI-anchored neuronal cell-surface protein that binds three major myelin-associated inhibitory ligands, including Nogo-A, myelin-associated glycoprotein (MAG), and oligodendrocyte myelin glycoprotein (OMgp). Ligand engagement recruits co-receptors LINGO-1 with either p75NTR or TROY, activating RhoA signaling and suppressing neurite outgrowth and axon regeneration in the adult central nervous system. Researchers studying spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, ischemic stroke, multiple sclerosis, and broader neurodegenerative processes rely on accurate quantitative ELISA measurement of soluble NgR to monitor receptor ectodomain shedding, evaluate candidate regeneration therapies, and track expression dynamics in neuronal and glial cell culture systems.

This Assay Genie ELISA kit is configured for quantitative detection of mouse Nogo Receptor/Reticulon-4 Receptor in cell culture supernatants, plasma, and serum. Each kit provides reagents for 96 assays, supplied in a complete, ready-to-use configuration compatible with standard microplate absorbance readers. The protocol supports reproducible workflows in academic core facilities and pharmaceutical neuroscience discovery programs investigating CNS repair, synaptic plasticity, and myelin-associated inhibitory signaling.
