Mouse Noggin (Nog) ELISA Kit

This colourimetric Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Noggin (NOG) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, with reactivity specific to mouse samples.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.8% and inter-assay CV is 8.7%. Linearity was demonstrated across serial dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16) with serum at 94–104%, 86–98%, 105–114% and 91–101%, EDTA plasma at 110–118%, 91–100%, 101–101% and 90–102%, and heparin plasma at 106–116%, 101–111%, 97–106% and 109–120% (N=5). Average recovery was 97% (range 91–103%) for serum and 99% (range 93–105%) for plasma. Specificity was demonstrated against natural and recombinant mouse Noggin.

Noggin is a secreted homodimer that acts as an inhibitor of bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signalling, essential for cartilage morphogenesis and joint formation, as well as for growth and patterning of the neural tube and somite. It interacts with GDF5 and contributes to the inhibition of chondrocyte differentiation. The kit is intended for research use only within developmental biology studies.
