Mouse Neutrophil collagenase (Mmp8) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's Mouse Neutrophil collagenase (Mmp8) ELISA Kit is a sandwich-format immunoassay intended for the quantitative detection of mouse MMP8 in research settings. The assay is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant mouse Neutrophil collagenase.

MMP8, also referred to as Collagenase 2 or Matrix metalloproteinase-8, is described in the kit documentation as a key enzyme in tissue remodeling and extracellular matrix degradation, linked to inflammatory processes and to conditions such as arthritis, periodontitis and cancer. Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.078ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 7.5% and an inter-assay CV of 9.5%. Recovery is reported at an average of 86% (range 80-92%) for serum and 88% (range 82-94%) for plasma. According to UniProt entry O70138, MMP8 can degrade fibrillar type I, II, and III collagens and may play a role in the degradation of collagen fibers during uterine involution.
