Mouse Neuroglobin (Ngb) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie, designed to accurately measure Neuroglobin (Ngb) levels in mouse samples and supplied for research use only. The colorimetric assay accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, and recognises natural and recombinant mouse Neuroglobin with mouse reactivity.

Neuroglobin is a hexacoordinate globin involved in oxygen transport in the brain. The deoxygenated form exhibits nitrite reductase activity that inhibits cellular respiration via NO-binding to cytochrome c oxidase, and the protein has been implicated in neuroprotection during oxidative stress and in anti-apoptotic activity associated with the trigger level of mitochondrial cytochrome c release. UniProt entry Q9ER97 describes the protein as a monomer that can also form disulfide-linked homodimers and homotetramers, with 14-3-3 as an interaction partner, and subcellular localisation reported in the perikaryon, cytoplasm and mitochondrion. The kit is positioned within the Neurosciences research area.

Reported performance is a detection range of 3.12-200 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 1.62 ng/mL; intra-assay CV, inter-assay CV, linearity and recovery values are provided with the kit.
