Reported performance includes a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 15.66pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.1% and an inter-assay CV of 7.6%. Recovery is reported at 80-91% for serum (average 85%) and 81-93% for plasma (average 87%); linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions falls within 95-118% for serum, 101-127% for EDTA plasma, and 91-129% for heparin plasma.

Netrin-1 is described as a secreted extracellular matrix protein that controls guidance of CNS commissural axons and peripheral motor axons. Its association with receptors including DCC, UNC5A, UNC5B, UNC5C, UNC5D and DSCAM mediates axon attraction or repulsion, and the protein also serves as a survival factor that prevents the initiation of apoptosis.
