The kit targets Neprilysin, also known as neutral endopeptidase or CD10, a zinc metalloendopeptidase involved in the destruction of opioid peptides such as Met- and Leu-enkephalins and in the degradation of angiotensin-1, angiotensin-2, and atrial natriuretic factor (ANF).

Validated for mouse reactivity with specificity toward natural and recombinant mouse Neprilysin, the assay employs a colorimetric Sandwich ELISA detection method.
