The Mouse NADH Dehydrogenase 1 (ND1) ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is calibrated for quantitative detection of mouse ND1, a mitochondrially-encoded core subunit of respiratory Complex I (NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase). The capture and detection antibodies are species-specific to the mouse ND1 protein, with no significant cross-reactivity with related subunits or other species orthologues reported under the standard protocol.

ND1 (gene symbol mt-Nd1) is encoded on the mitochondrial genome and contributes directly to proton translocation at Complex I, making this microplate-based kit useful in studies of oxidative phosphorylation, mitochondrial biogenesis, neurodegeneration, metabolic syndrome, and exercise physiology. Compatible sample types include tissue homogenates prepared from mitochondria-rich tissues such as skeletal muscle, heart, liver, and brain, and clarified by centrifugation at 10,000 x g for 10 minutes at 4 °C to remove debris prior to loading.

Each kit provides a complete microplate with pre-coated wells, lyophilised standards, detection antibody, wash buffer, substrate solution, and stop reagent sufficient for one plate run. All components should be stored refrigerated upon arrival; reconstituted standards and concentrated detection antibody should be aliquoted into single-use vials to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light where indicated.

The assay is performed in vitro as a research-use-only method, with incubation at 37 °C and absorbance quantified on a standard microplate reader against the standard curve generated in each run.
