Mouse Myocardin (Myocd) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Myocardin (Myocd). It uses a colorimetric detection method and is validated for use with mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The assay offers a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.18ng/mL, and shows specificity for natural and recombinant mouse Myocardin (UniProt Q8VIM5; molecular weight 92,243 Da).

Myocardin is a smooth muscle and cardiac muscle-specific transcriptional factor that acts through CArG box DNA sequences. It functions as a cofactor of serum response factor (SRF) and plays a crucial role in cardiogenesis and the differentiation of the smooth muscle cell lineage (myogenesis). Isoform 1 mediates MEF2C-dependent transcription, and isoforms 1 and 3 are reported to be more active than isoforms 2 and 4 in stimulating cardiac muscle promoters.
