Mouse MYO (Myoglobin) CLIA Kit (MOES00064)

A chemiluminescence-based immunoassay from Assay Genie is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of Mouse Myoglobin (MYO) in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. The kit employs a Sandwich-CLIA principle, with antibody-pre-coated microplate wells, a biotinylated detection antibody, and an Avidin-HRP conjugate. Relative Light Unit (RLU) values are measured with a chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer and are positively correlated with analyte concentration; the value for each sample is read against a standard curve.

The assay has a reported sensitivity of 0.19 ng/mL and a detection range of 0.31-20 ng/mL, with a total assay time of 4.5h and a required sample volume of 100 μL. The kit specifically recognizes Mouse MYO, with no significant cross-reactivity or interference with analogues reported. Reproducibility is stated as both intra-CV and inter-CV < 15%. Linearity was assessed in serum (n=5), EDTA plasma (n=5) and cell culture media (n=5) at dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16; reported average recovery values are 94% for serum (range 89-102%), 91% for EDTA plasma (range 84-99%) and 100% for cell culture media (range 93-107%). Myoglobin, also referenced under the synonyms MB and PVALB, is a key protein of muscle tissue involved in oxygen storage and utilization, and elevated levels can indicate muscle damage or injury, making the assay relevant to studies of muscular dystrophy, myocardial infarction and exercise-induced muscle damage.
