Built around the BCL2 family member MCL1, this colorimetric immunoassay from Assay Genie provides quantitative measurement of myeloid cell leukemia sequence 1 protein in mouse-derived specimens. The kit ships as a complete 96-assay microplate package, supporting a full plate of determinations in a single run, and is intended for research use only in laboratory settings.

MCL1 is an anti-apoptotic mitochondrial membrane protein that buffers cells against programmed cell death and is frequently overexpressed in murine models of hematological malignancy, solid tumor xenografts, and studies of chemoresistance. Researchers working on apoptosis regulation, BCL2 family signaling, or oncology drug screening commonly apply this assay to serum samples, plasma samples, and tissue homogenate preparations collected from mouse models.

Each kit includes a pre-coated microplate, matched antibody pair reagents, protein standards for calibration, assay and wash buffers, substrate solution for signal development, and stop reagent. Detailed plate layout and protocol documentation are included to support reproducible intra-assay and inter-assay performance, and the workflow is compatible with manual pipetting as well as automated liquid-handling systems reading absorbance on standard microplate readers.

For storage, unopened kits should be kept refrigerated at 4°C until first use, with reconstituted reagents handled according to the supplied manual. The microplate format is well suited to apoptosis research, cancer biology studies, and pharmacological investigations of BCL2 family inhibitors in mouse systems, including evaluation of candidate compounds that disrupt MCL1 protein-protein interactions or alter its stability.
