Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the precise quantification of mouse Mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule 1 (MAdCAM-1) using a colorimetric detection method. The assay reacts specifically with natural and recombinant mouse MAdCAM-1 and is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It is intended for research use only and falls within the immunology research area.

MAdCAM-1 is a cell adhesion leukocyte receptor expressed by mucosal venules that helps direct lymphocyte traffic into mucosal tissues, including Peyer's patches and the intestinal lamina propria. It can bind both integrin alpha-4/beta-7 and L-selectin, regulating both the passage and retention of leukocytes. The protein is classified as a homodimer and a single-pass type I membrane protein, and is associated with biological processes including cell adhesion, leukocyte migration, keratinocyte differentiation, and positive regulation of leukocyte migration. It has been identified as a key protein in immune cell trafficking relevant to inflammatory bowel disease and other mucosal-related disorders.

The assay provides a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.395ng/mL. The associated UniProt entry is Q61826, with NCBI Gene ID 17123 and a reported molecular weight of 28,357 Da.
