Mouse Mucin-2 (Muc2) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative determination of mouse Mucin-2 (MUC2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The assay uses colorimetric detection and is reactive with mouse samples, providing high sensitivity and specificity for the accurate quantification of MUC2 levels.

MUC2 is a key mucin protein that coats the epithelia of the intestines, airways, and other mucus membrane-containing organs, where it is thought to provide a protective, lubricating barrier against particles and infectious agents at mucosal surfaces. It is a major constituent of both the inner and outer mucus layers of the colon and may play a role in excluding bacteria from the inner mucus layer. Dysregulation of MUC2 expression has been associated with gastrointestinal disorders including inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer, making this kit a valuable tool for studying mucin biology and gastrointestinal health in mouse models. Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.088 ng/mL. The kit shows intra-assay CV of 4.5% and inter-assay CV of 7.2%. Linearity has been demonstrated across serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma samples at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16, with recovery averaging 92% for serum and 94% for plasma.
