Mouse Mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 7 (Smad7) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie, designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 7 (SMAD7). The assay is intended for research use only and has been validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity reported for natural and recombinant mouse SMAD7.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.16ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 7.5% and an inter-assay CV of 9.8%. Dilutional linearity for serum spans 99-110% at 1:2, 105-115% at 1:4, 89-100% at 1:8 and 97-108% at 1:16; EDTA plasma shows 109-118%, 89-99%, 101-111% and 95-105% across the same dilutions; heparin plasma shows 95-104%, 94-103%, 107-118% and 81-90%. Average recovery is 85% (range 80-91%) in serum and 87% (range 81-93%) in plasma.

SMAD7 functions as an antagonist of TGF-beta signaling, inhibiting TGF-beta and activin signaling by associating with their receptors, thereby preventing SMAD2 access. The protein is localised to the nucleus and cytoplasm, and the listed research area is epigenetics.
