Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of mouse Mitogen-activated protein kinase 14 (Mapk14) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit is reactive with mouse samples and detects both natural and recombinant forms of MAPK14. Reported synonyms include CRK1, Mitogen-activated protein kinase p38 alpha, MAP kinase p38 alpha, MAP kinase 14, Crk1, Csbp1, and Csbp2.

MAPK14 (UniProt P47811) is a serine/threonine kinase that acts as an essential component of the MAP kinase signal transduction pathway and is one of the four p38 MAPKs. These play an important role in cellular responses evoked by extracellular stimuli such as proinflammatory cytokines or physical stress, leading to direct activation of transcription factors. Dysregulation of MAPK14 has been linked to cancer, inflammatory disorders, and neurodegenerative conditions, making it a potential therapeutic target and biomarker for disease progression.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 7.9% and inter-assay CV is 9.5%. Linearity in serum (N=5) ranges from 84-92% at 1:2 dilution to 107-117% at 1:16, with EDTA plasma and heparin plasma also evaluated. Recovery averages 91% (range 85-97%) for serum and 93% (range 87-99%) for plasma. The kit is supplied in a solid phase format, with storage at -20°C and shipping at +4°C.
