Description

Designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Mitochondrial carnitine/acylcarnitine carrier protein (Slc25A20), this sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie uses a colorimetric detection method. The assay is validated for use with serum, plasma, saliva, urine, cell culture supernatant, tissue samples and other related supernatants. The Mouse Mitochondrial carnitine/acylcarnitine carrier protein (Slc25a20) ELISA Kit provides a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.162ng/mL.

The kit employs highly specific antibodies pre-coated onto a microplate, combined with a biotinylated detection antibody and an Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate. Following incubation with substrate, the enzymatic reaction is terminated and the optical density is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm. Performance characteristics such as intra-assay CV, inter-assay CV, linearity and spike recovery are provided with the kit. Specificity has been determined for natural and recombinant mouse Mitochondrial carnitine/acylcarnitine carrier protein.

SLC25A20 (UniProt Q9Z2Z6), also known as carnitine/acylcarnitine translocase, is a multi-pass mitochondrial inner membrane protein with a molecular weight of 33,027 Da that mediates the transport of acylcarnitines of varying length from the cytosol into the mitochondrial matrix for oxidation by the mitochondrial fatty acid-oxidation pathway. Defects in SLC25A20 are the cause of carnitine-acylcarnitine translocase (CACT) deficiency, an autosomal recessive disorder of mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation. The product is for research use only.
