Mouse Metalloproteinase inhibitor 1 (Timp1) ELISA Kit

Designed for the quantitative detection of mouse TIMP1 (Metalloproteinase inhibitor 1), this Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie uses a colorimetric method to measure the analyte in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay delivers a detection range of 0.078-5ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.041ng/mL, and reports an intra-assay CV of 5.6% together with an inter-assay CV of 8.4%.

Linearity was demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions, with observed recovery ranges of 89-98% to 106-118% in serum, 88-97% to 117% in EDTA plasma, and 86-98% to 104-116% in heparin plasma. Spike-and-recovery testing yielded an average of 83% in serum (range 80-89%) and 85% in plasma (range 80-91%). Specificity is established against natural and recombinant mouse Metalloproteinase inhibitor 1. The kit is for research use only.

TIMP1 is a secreted metalloproteinase inhibitor that forms one-to-one complexes with target metalloproteinases — including MMP1, MMP2, MMP3, MMP7, MMP8, MMP9, MMP10, MMP11, MMP12, MMP13 and MMP16 — and irreversibly inactivates them by binding to their catalytic zinc cofactor. The protein also functions as a growth factor that regulates cell differentiation, migration and cell death through signalling cascades involving CD63 and ITGB1. Its subcellular location is secreted, and the associated research area is cardiovascular.
