Mouse Melatonin ELISA Kit

A competitive ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of melatonin in mouse samples. The assay is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, and uses a colorimetric detection method with antigen-coated wells. Reported sensitivity is 4.688 pg/mL and the standard curve covers 7.813–500 pg/mL.

The kit supports research into melatonin's role in sleep–wake regulation, immune function, antioxidant activity, and hormonal balance. Linearity is reported for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma (n=10) across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions, with average recoveries of 90% (serum), 97% (EDTA plasma), and 96% (heparin plasma).

The procedure involves equilibrating TMB substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature, adding 50 µL of standard or sample followed by 50 µL of biotin-labeled antibody per well, incubating at 37°C for 45 minutes, washing, developing color with TMB substrate in the dark at 37°C for 10–20 minutes, stopping the reaction, and reading absorbance at 450 nm. Sealed kits should be stored at 2–8°C and not cryopreserved.
