Description

Assay Genie offers a colorimetric Sandwich ELISA for the quantitative detection of mouse Melanoma-derived growth regulatory protein (Mia) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Mia and is intended for research use only.

Reported performance figures include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 39pg/mL. Mia is a secreted protein that belongs to the MIA/OTOR family and is involved in extracellular matrix organisation and cell-matrix adhesion. It has been shown to elicit growth inhibition on melanoma cells in vitro and on certain neuroectodermal tumours, including gliomas, and interacts with FASLG. The corresponding UniProt entry is Q61865 (entry name MIA_MOUSE), with a molecular weight of 14,593 Da. The official NCBI gene symbol is Mia, with synonyms including Mia1, Cdrap, CD-RAP, cartilage-derived retinoic acid-sensitive protein and melanoma inhibitory activity protein.
