MCAM (Melanoma Cell Adhesion Molecule), also called CD146, is a transmembrane immunoglobulin superfamily glycoprotein expressed on endothelial cells, activated lymphocytes, and a range of tumor cell types. Quantitation of mouse MCAM supports research in melanoma biology, angiogenesis, vascular inflammation, and tumor microenvironment studies. The Assay Genie kit is supplied as a complete reagent set in a microplate-based two-site ELISA configuration intended for laboratory research use only.

Validated inputs include tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants, serum samples, and plasma samples, supporting both in vivo mouse models and in vitro cell-based studies. Reagents are shipped cold and should be kept refrigerated on arrival; components should equilibrate to room temperature before each run. Capture antibody is pre-bound to the plate, and detection is achieved with an enzyme-linked secondary reagent and a colorimetric substrate read on a standard plate reader.

Typical applications include profiling MCAM expression in mouse melanoma cell lines, tracking soluble CD146 in circulation during angiogenesis or metastasis studies, and characterizing endothelial activation in preclinical drug-response experiments. Because MCAM participates in cell-cell adhesion, migration, and downstream signaling through pathways such as NF-κB and Wnt/β-catenin, the kit provides a practical tool for basic discovery work and translational oncology research. Each kit is configured as a single-use pack with standards and reagents sufficient for one full microplate run.
