MCP-1 is a key chemokine involved in recruiting monocytes and T cells to sites of inflammation and plays a crucial role in immune responses and inflammatory processes. Its dysregulation has been linked to diseases including atherosclerosis, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions. Reported linearity in serum (n=5) is 85-105%, 82-98% and 86-95% at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions; EDTA plasma shows 94-104%, 82-98% and 81-91%; heparin plasma shows 85-101%, 84-101% and 83-96%. Average recovery is 94% in serum, 95% in EDTA plasma and 100% in heparin plasma.

The workflow includes reagent and plate preparation, a primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody binding at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and a stop reaction with absorbance read at 450 nm. Provided components include a dismountable ELISA microplate, lyophilised standard, biotin-labelled antibody, HRP-Streptavidin conjugate, TMB substrate, sample, antibody and SABC dilution buffers, stop solution, wash buffer, plate sealer and technical manual.
