Mouse Matrix metalloproteinase-17 (Mmp17) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of Matrix metalloproteinase-17 (MMP17) in mouse samples. The kit recognizes natural and recombinant mouse MMP17 and is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

MMP17 is a GPI-anchored membrane-bound endopeptidase that belongs to the peptidase M10A family and degrades extracellular matrix components such as fibrin. It may contribute to the activation of membrane-bound precursors of growth factors and inflammatory mediators, including tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and has been implicated in tissue development, wound healing, extracellular matrix remodeling and cancer progression. In mouse models, animals lacking the encoded protein show dysfunctional vascular smooth muscle cells, altered extracellular matrix in the vessel wall and increased susceptibility to angiotensin-II-induced thoracic aortic aneurysm. The associated UniProt entry is Q9R0S3, with a reported molecular weight of 64,333 Da.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the assay has a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.087 ng/mL. The product is intended for research use only.
