Mouse MAO-A/ Monoamine Oxidase A ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of Monoamine Oxidase A (MAO-A) in mouse samples. MAO-A is an enzyme involved in the metabolism of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine, and its dysregulation has been linked to psychiatric disorders including depression and anxiety, as well as neurological conditions like Parkinson's disease. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method in a double antibody sandwich format and is suitable for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

Performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL and a standard range of 78.125–5000 pg/mL. Linearity in serum (n=5) is 85–105% at 1:2, 95–103% at 1:4, and 85–99% at 1:8; in EDTA plasma (n=5) 90–100%, 89–96%, and 87–101%; and in heparin plasma (n=5) 85–93%, 84–98%, and 84–94%. Recovery averages are 95% for serum, 96% for EDTA plasma, and 94% for heparin plasma. The kit should be stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

The assay protocol includes equilibration of reagents, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotinylated detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin incubation at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB color development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution addition.
