Mouse Major urinary protein 20 (Mup20) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers this sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative detection of mouse Major urinary protein 20 (MUP20), also known by the synonyms Darcin, Major urinary protein 24 and Mup24. The kit is intended for research use only and is reactive with mouse samples. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant mouse MUP20. MUP20 is a secreted male pheromone protein that stimulates female sexual attraction to male urinary scent, promotes a learned attraction to the airborne urinary odour of an individual male, and supports male aggressive behaviour by binding most of the male pheromone 2-sec-butyl-4,5-dihydrothiazole in urine.

The assay provides a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.186 ng/mL, with intra-assay CV of 6.3% and inter-assay CV of 9.9%. Linearity has been characterised in serum (84–123%), EDTA plasma (102–126%) and heparin plasma (99–119%) across a serial dilution series. Recovery averages 102% (range 96–108%) for serum and 104% (range 98–110%) for plasma. The target has a molecular weight of 20,930 Da and belongs to the calycin superfamily (Lipocalin family).
