Mouse Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (Mif) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is intended for the quantitative measurement of mouse Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor (MIF) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The colorimetric assay reacts with mouse samples. MIF is a pro-inflammatory cytokine involved in innate immune responses to bacterial pathogens, where it regulates macrophage migration and activation and counteracts the anti-inflammatory activity of glucocorticoids. The target is implicated in autoimmune disorders, cancer, and inflammatory conditions.

Key performance specifications include a detection range of 62.5-4000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 31.35pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.9% and inter-assay CV is 9.3%. Linearity was assessed across dilution factors of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (N=5 each). Recovery averages 87% (range 81-93%) for serum and 89% (range 83-95%) for plasma. The kit specifically detects natural and recombinant mouse MIF and is suited to immunology research.

The target protein has UniProt accession P34884, a molecular weight of 12,504 Da, and is secreted by macrophages upon stimulation with bacterial lipopolysaccharide.
