Description

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Macrophage colony-stimulating factor 1 (Csf1), a cytokine also referred to as CSF-1 and Csfm. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is intended for use with mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.09 ng/mL, and intra- and inter-assay CVs of 6.3% and 7.7% respectively. Linearity was evaluated at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 using serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples (n=5). Recovery analysis returned an average of 99% (range 93–105%) in serum and 101% (range 95–107%) in plasma. The capture and detection antibodies recognise natural and recombinant mouse CSF1, referenced under UniProt ID P07141.

CSF1 (M-CSF) is a cytokine that regulates the survival, proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells, especially mononuclear phagocytes such as macrophages and monocytes. It supports innate immunity, drives proinflammatory chemokine release, controls osteoclast-mediated bone resorption and is required for normal male and female fertility. Dysregulation of CSF1 or its receptor CSF1R has been linked to cancers of the breast, ovary, prostate and endometrium, as well as to inflammatory conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, glomerulonephritis and atherosclerosis, supporting the kit's use in immunology research. For research use only.
