The assay is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, and is suited to research applications in immunology.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/ml, a sensitivity of 0.19ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.4%, and an inter-assay CV of 9.2%. Recovery averages 100% (range 94-106%) in serum and 102% (range 96-108%) in plasma. The kit shows specificity for natural and recombinant mouse Fcgr3. The target protein (UniProt P08508) is a single-pass type I membrane protein located on the cell membrane and functions as a low-affinity receptor for the Fc region of complexed immunoglobulins gamma, binding IgG1, IgG2a, and IgG2b.
