Leukotriene A4 Hydrolase (LTA4H) is a bifunctional zinc metalloenzyme best known for converting leukotriene A4 into leukotriene B4, a potent chemoattractant lipid that drives neutrophil recruitment during inflammation. The same enzyme also carries an aminopeptidase activity against short proline-containing peptides. Researchers studying the LTA4H/LTB4 axis use quantitative protein measurement to complement transcript-level work and to track enzyme abundance in models of arthritis, asthma, colitis, atherosclerosis, and certain cancers.

This colorimetric immunoassay from Assay Genie is supplied as a 96-assay kit intended for research use only, with reactivity limited to mouse samples. Validated sample matrices include mouse serum, EDTA-plasma, and tissue homogenates prepared from relevant organs such as lung, spleen, and liver. The plate-based workflow uses standard laboratory incubation and wash steps, with absorbance read on a conventional microplate reader.

The kit ships as single-use vials and should be refrigerated until first use. Researchers commonly pair LTA4H protein quantitation with downstream LTB4 measurements by LC-MS or with LTA4H activity assays to distinguish expression changes from functional regulation in inflammatory disease models.
