Description

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Leukemia inhibitory factor receptor (LIFR). The assay uses a colorimetric detection method with absorbance read at 450 nm, and is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit shows reactivity against mouse samples and recognises both natural and recombinant mouse LIFR. Synonyms for the target include D-factor/LIF receptor, CD118 and LIF receptor (UniProt P42703).

LIFR is a signal-transducing molecule that may share a common pathway with IL6ST, and the biologically active receptor is a heterodimer composed of LIFR and IL6ST, which additionally interacts with the CNTF/CNTFR complex. The soluble form of the receptor inhibits the biological activity of LIF by blocking its binding to target cells. The kit is intended for research use only and is suited to immunology research, including studies of conditions such as leukemia, immune disorders and inflammatory diseases in which LIFR dysregulation has been implicated.

The reported detection range is 6.25-400 pg/mL, with a sensitivity of 3.215 pg/mL. Kit components are stored at -20°C or 4°C depending on the reagent, as detailed in the component list supplied with the kit.
