LEFTY1 is a secreted ligand belonging to the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily, best known for orchestrating left-right axis determination during vertebrate embryogenesis and for restraining Nodal signaling in pluripotent stem cells. This Assay Genie kit delivers a quantitative, microplate-based immunoassay calibrated specifically for murine LEFTY1 protein detection across a panel of sample matrices including individual serum specimens, plasma preparations, tissue homogenates, and conditioned cell culture supernatant.

Aberrant LEFTY1 regulation features prominently in oncology research, particularly investigations of breast carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and melanoma invasion, as well as in developmental biology studies tracing embryonic patterning in transgenic mouse models. Researchers can deploy the kit to compare LEFTY1 secretion between wild-type and knockout cohorts, monitor biomarker shifts in tumor progression models, or quantify protein levels in stem cell differentiation protocols.

The kit includes pre-coated well plate strips, biotinylated detection antibody, recombinant standards, and streptavidin-HRP conjugate sufficient for 96 determinations with a chromogenic readout. Reagents should be refrigerated upon arrival and protected from light to preserve activity across the kit's shelf life. Process samples in aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, particularly when working with labile tissue homogenates. This research-use-only ELISA reagent supports workflows in academic, pharmaceutical, and translational research laboratories investigating TGF-β superfamily signaling and LEFTY1-mediated regulation of Nodal pathways.
