Description

Assay Genie provides a Sandwich ELISA Kit designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Laminin subunit gamma-2 (LAMC2), also referred to as Epiligrin subunit gamma, Kalinin subunit gamma, Laminin-5 subunit gamma, Nicein subunit gamma, Laminin B2t chain and Kalinin/nicein/epiligrin 100 kDa subunit. The assay has been validated for mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, and is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Laminin subunit gamma-2.

Detection is by colorimetric sandwich ELISA. The standard curve covers a range of 78–5000 pg/mL and the analytical sensitivity is 39.18 pg/mL. The kit includes a dismountable microplate, lyophilized standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents A and B, wash buffer, substrate solution, stop solution and plate sealers, with storage temperatures of -20°C or 4°C depending on the component. Intra-assay CV, inter-assay CV, linearity and recovery data are provided with the kit.

Laminin is a complex extracellular glycoprotein composed of alpha, beta and gamma chains linked by disulfide bonds into a cross-shaped molecule with one long and three short arms. The gamma-2 chain is a subunit of laminin-5 (also called laminin-332, epiligrin, kalinin or nicein) and is reported to bind to fibulin-1, fibulin-1c, fibulin-2 and nidogen. LAMC2 is secreted into the extracellular space and basement membrane, where it mediates cell adhesion, migration and tissue organization. The associated UniProt accession is Q61092.
