Description

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit uses a colorimetric detection method and is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Laminin subunit alpha-5 (Lama5) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is reactive with mouse samples and detects both natural and recombinant mouse Laminin subunit alpha-5.

Laminin subunit alpha-5 is a component of the extracellular matrix that, via a high-affinity receptor, is thought to mediate the attachment, migration and organization of cells into tissues during embryonic development by interacting with other extracellular matrix components. Alpha-5 may be the major laminin alpha chain of adult epithelial and/or endothelial basal laminae, and is a subunit of laminin-10 (laminin-511), laminin-11 (laminin-521) and laminin-15 (laminin-523). The associated UniProt entry is Q61001 and the listed research area is Neurosciences.

Performance figures supplied with the kit include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.188ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 7.3% and inter-assay CV is 9.1%. Recovery in serum averages 91% (range 85-97%) and in plasma averages 93% (range 87-99%). Reported linearity for serum spans 95-105% to 103-113% across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions, with EDTA plasma at 94-104% to 103-113% and heparin plasma at 108-118% to 97-106% over the same dilution series. The product is intended for research use only.
