LAP2 (also known as thymopoietin or TP) is a single-pass type II inner nuclear membrane protein tightly associated with the nuclear lamina. It may help direct the assembly of the nuclear lamina and help maintain the structural organization of the nuclear envelope, may serve as a receptor for attachment of lamin filaments to the inner nuclear membrane, and may be involved in controlling the initiation of DNA replication through its interaction with NAKAP95. The protein interacts with LMNB1, LMNB2, BANF1, AKAP8L, GMCL and chromosomes. Dysregulation of LAP2 has been associated with various diseases, including cancer, making it a biomarker of interest for research. The kit is suitable for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.
