Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the precise quantitative measurement of mouse Lactoylglutathione lyase (Glo1) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The double-antibody sandwich format uses colorimetric detection and is reported to offer exceptional sensitivity and specificity for reproducible results across a range of research applications.

GLO1, also referred to as lactoylglutathione lyase, glyoxalase I, aldoketomutase, methylglyoxalase, glx I, GLYI, GLOD1, glyoxalase domain containing 1, or ketone-aldehyde mutase, is the enzyme responsible for detoxifying methylglyoxal, a reactive byproduct of cellular metabolism. Dysregulation of GLO1 has been linked to diabetes, cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders, supporting its use as a biomarker in those research areas. The kit is configured around the mouse Uniprot entry Q9CPU0.

According to the manufacturer's specification, the assay has a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL and a measuring range of 78.125–5000 pg/mL, with absorbance read at 450 nm after TMB substrate development. Reported linearity values for serum (n=5) are 87–99% at 1:2, 82–99% at 1:4, and 83–90% at 1:8; for EDTA plasma (n=5), 86–105%, 91–100%, and 84–100%; and for heparin plasma (n=5), 89–104%, 83–100%, and 80–95%. Spike-recovery averages are 97% for serum, 92% for EDTA plasma, and 92% for heparin plasma. Reagents are intended to be stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.
