Description

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit supports the quantitative measurement of mouse kynurenine/alpha-aminoadipate aminotransferase (Aadat) in mouse samples. Aadat is a mitochondrial transaminase with broad substrate specificity, active towards aminoadipate, kynurenine, methionine and glutamate, and additionally towards tryptophan, aspartate and hydroxykynurenine. It accepts a variety of oxo-acids as amino-group acceptors, with a preference for 2-oxoglutarate, 2-oxocaproic acid, phenylpyruvate and alpha-oxo-gamma-methiol butyric acid. The native enzyme is a homodimer, located in mitochondria, and is annotated with UniProt ID Q9WVM8.

Intended for research use only, the assay accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Detection is performed by ELISA with a stated detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.053 ng/mL. Specificity is reported for natural and recombinant mouse Aadat.

Linearity has been verified across serial dilutions. For serum (n=5), recoveries span 106–118%, 99–108%, 106–116% and 92–102% at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. EDTA plasma (n=5) shows 94–105%, 109–119%, 80–89% and 105–115% across the same dilutions, and heparin plasma (n=5) shows 107–117%, 86–96%, 114–114% and 99–110%.
