Mouse Kynurenine 3-monooxygenase (Kmo) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's Mouse Kynurenine 3-monooxygenase (KMO) ELISA Kit is a sandwich-format, colorimetric immunoassay for the quantitative detection of mouse KMO, also known as Kynurenine 3-hydroxylase. The enzyme plays a central role in the kynurenine pathway of tryptophan metabolism, catalyzing the hydroxylation of L-kynurenine to 3-hydroxy-L-kynurenine and supporting synthesis of quinolinic acid, a neurotoxic NMDA receptor antagonist involved in brain development, synaptogenesis and apoptosis.

For research use, the assay is specific to natural and recombinant mouse KMO and is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.78-50 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.41 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.5% and an inter-assay CV of 6.9%. Linearity has been assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilution series, and spike-recovery averages of 99% (serum) and 101% (plasma) are documented.

KMO is a multi-pass mitochondrial outer-membrane protein (UniProt Q91WN4, 52 kDa) of interest in metabolic research, with dysregulation of its activity implicated in neurodegenerative disorders, autoimmune diseases and psychiatric conditions.
