Description

Designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Keratinocyte proline-rich protein (KPRP), this sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie provides a sensitive tool for research into skin biology and pathology. KPRP is a key protein found in keratinocytes, where it plays a critical role in skin cell differentiation and function; abnormalities in its expression have been linked to a variety of skin disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions and exploring potential treatment options.

The kit is validated for use with mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with reported specificity for natural and recombinant mouse KPRP. Detection is colorimetric, read at 450 nm, with a stated detection range of 1.56–100 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.8 ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 8.8% and an inter-assay CV of 10.8%.

Spike-and-recovery performance is given as 99% (range 93–105%) for serum and 101% (range 95–107%) for plasma. Linearity across serial dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 spans approximately 81–120%, depending on matrix (serum, EDTA plasma or heparin plasma). The target protein corresponds to Uniprot entry B2RUR4, has a molecular weight of 71,740 Da, is localised to the cytoplasm, and is induced by calcium and in psoriatic lesions. For research use only.
