Mouse Izumo sperm-egg fusion protein 1 (Izumo1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of mouse Izumo sperm-egg fusion protein 1 (Izumo1), also known as Oocyte binding/fusion factor, Sperm-specific protein izumo, or OBF. The assay is intended for use with mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, uses a colorimetric detection method, and is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Izumo sperm-egg fusion protein 1.

Izumo1 is an essential sperm cell-surface protein required for fertilization, acting as a ligand for the IZUMO1R/JUNO receptor on the egg. The IZUMO1:IZUMO1R/JUNO interaction is a necessary adhesion event between sperm and egg that is required for fertilization but is not sufficient for cell fusion, and the ligand-receptor interaction probably does not act as a membrane 'fusogen'. The kit reports a detection range of 62.5-4000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 31.4pg/mL.
