Description

Designed for the quantification of IDH1 levels in mouse samples, this Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is intended for use across research applications. The kit targets mouse Isocitrate dehydrogenase [NADP] cytoplasmic (Idh1), a key enzyme involved in the citric acid cycle and cellular metabolism. The target is also referred to by the synonyms Cytosolic NADP-isocitrate dehydrogenase, IDP, NADP(+)-specific ICDH, Oxalosuccinate decarboxylase, and IDH.

The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with mouse samples. Performance figures published by Assay Genie include a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.398ng/mL. The kit is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, and specifically recognises natural and recombinant mouse Isocitrate dehydrogenase [NADP] cytoplasmic. The enzyme is located in the cytoplasm and functions as a homodimer.

IDH1 is an oxidoreductase that catalyses the third step of the TCA cycle, consuming NADP(+) to produce alpha-ketoglutarate and CO2, and has apparent tumour suppressor activity. Somatic mutations in IDH1 have been implicated in diseases such as cancer and metabolic disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for study. The protein is listed under Uniprot accession O88844 with a molecular weight of 49.2kD, and the kit is supplied for research use only within the cardiovascular research area.
