Description

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is intended for the quantitative detection of mouse Interferon-induced protein with tetratricopeptide repeats 1 (IFIT1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is for research use only.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the kit has a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.082 ng/mL. Reported precision values are 7.3% intra-assay CV and 9.4% inter-assay CV. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant mouse IFIT1 (UniProt Q64282), an interferon-induced antiviral RNA-binding protein that acts as a sensor of viral single-stranded RNAs bearing a 5'-triphosphate group.

IFIT1, also referenced under synonyms such as GARG-16, IFI-56K, ISG56, and P56, is localised to the cytoplasm and has a reported molecular weight of 53,737 Da. The protein is known for its antiviral activity, particularly against RNA viruses, and plays a role in the innate immune response, making this kit a useful tool for studies of immune regulation and viral resistance mechanisms.
