Mouse Interferon beta (Ifnb1) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a Sandwich ELISA Kit designed for the quantitative detection of mouse interferon beta (Ifnb1), a cytokine described as having antiviral, antibacterial and anticancer activities and recognised for its central role in the immune response, particularly in defence against viral infections and the regulation of inflammatory processes. The assay is supplied for research use only and is targeted at mouse samples, where it has been validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Specificity has been demonstrated against natural and recombinant mouse interferon beta, making the kit suitable for studies of immune defence, viral pathogenesis and interferon-beta-related autoimmune research such as work on multiple sclerosis in murine models.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 15.6-1000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 7.85pg/mL, with intra-assay precision of 5.8% and inter-assay precision of 10.2%. Linearity has been characterised at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions, with serum recoveries of 91-104%, 97-108%, 104-114% and 102-112% respectively, EDTA plasma values of 108-118%, 80-89%, 104-113% and 116-126%, and heparin plasma values of 83-93%, 82-94%, 109-119% and 85-97%. Spike-and-recovery testing gives an average of 110% (range 104-116) for serum and 112% (range 106-118) for plasma. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method, and the target analyte (UniProt P01575) is a secreted monomer within the interferon family, indicated for immunology research.
