Mouse Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 3 (Igfbp3) ELISA Kit

The colorimetric assay is intended for use with mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 34pg/mL. The kit demonstrates an intra-assay CV of 3.5% and an inter-assay CV of 5.8%, with reported recovery of 97% (91-103%) in serum and 99% (93-105%) in plasma. Specificity is confirmed for natural and recombinant mouse IGFBP3, and the target is associated with the cancer research area with a secreted subcellular localisation.

IGFBP3 functions as an IGF-binding protein that prolongs the half-life of insulin-like growth factors and can either inhibit or stimulate their growth-promoting effects in cell culture. It alters the interaction of IGFs with their cell surface receptors and also exhibits IGF-independent antiproliferative and apoptotic effects mediated by its receptor TMEM219/IGFBP-3R.
