Description

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Insulin-degrading enzyme (IDE), also referred to by the synonyms Insulin protease, Insulysin, and Insulinase. The assay is for research use only and is reported to be specific for natural and recombinant mouse Insulin-degrading enzyme.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.169ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.3% and inter-assay CV is 7.9%. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. IDE plays a role in the cellular breakdown of insulin, IAPP, glucagon, bradykinin, kallidin and other peptides, contributing to intercellular peptide signaling, and degrades amyloid formed by APP and IAPP. Dysregulation of IDE activity has been linked to conditions such as diabetes and Alzheimer's disease, supporting its value as a biomarker in metabolic and neurodegenerative research in mouse models. The protein is reported as a homodimer that can form higher oligomers, with subcellular localization in the cytoplasm, cell membrane and a secreted form; the research area is Neurosciences. UniProt entry Q9JHR7.

Linearity across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 is reported as: serum (N=5) 88-98%, 105-117%, 99-108% and 94-104%; EDTA plasma (N=5) 91-101%, 110-120%, 93-105% and 113-125%; heparin plasma (N=5) 104-114%, 105-114%, 88-98% and 96-105%. Recovery is reported with an average of 90% (range 84-96%) for serum and an average of 92% (range 86-98%) for plasma.
