Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit enables quantitative measurement of Inosine triphosphate pyrophosphatase (Itpa) in mouse samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and falls within the Cell Biology research area, supporting studies of purine nucleotide metabolism.

Inosine triphosphate pyrophosphatase is a homodimeric, cytoplasmic pyrophosphatase that hydrolyzes the non-canonical purine nucleotides inosine triphosphate (ITP), deoxyinosine triphosphate (dITP), 2'-deoxy-N-6-hydroxylaminopurine triposphate (dHAPTP) and xanthosine 5'-triphosphate (XTP) to their respective monophosphate derivatives. The enzyme does not distinguish between the deoxy- and ribose forms and is thought to exclude non-canonical purines from RNA and DNA precursor pools, preventing their incorporation into nucleic acids and avoiding chromosomal lesions.

The assay is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Itpa and covers a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.163 ng/mL. It is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. For research use only.
