Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA is designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase subunit epsilon (Ikbke) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay specifically recognises natural and recombinant mouse Ikbke and is intended for research use only.

Ikbke (also known as IKK-i or Inducible I kappa-B kinase) is a serine/threonine kinase that plays an essential role in regulating inflammatory responses to viral infection by activating the type I IFN, NF-kappa-B and STAT signalling pathways. Following activation of viral RNA sensors, Ikbke phosphorylates interferon regulatory factors IRF3 and IRF7, driving transcription of pro-inflammatory and antiviral genes including IFNB. The kinase is also activated by polyubiquitination in response to TNFA and interleukin-1, and has been linked to chronic low-grade inflammation associated with obesity and reduced insulin sensitivity. The protein is a focus of cancer research and is listed under UniProt Q9R0T8. Subcellularly, Ikbke localises to the cytoplasm, nucleus and PML bodies.

The assay provides a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 32 pg/mL, using ELISA detection in mouse samples. Linearity data supplied for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma cover dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16.
