Inhibin A Quantification in Mouse Samples

An absorbance-based ELISA for quantifying mouse Inhibin A, a heterodimeric glycoprotein composed of an α subunit disulfide-linked to a βA subunit, secreted primarily by ovarian granulosa cells, testicular Sertoli cells, and the placenta during pregnancy. The assay is supplied by Assay Genie as a complete microplate kit for in vitro research on reproductive endocrinology, gonadal function, and pregnancy-related models.

Inhibin A circulates at biologically meaningful concentrations and serves as a widely measured readout in reproductive biology, where it tracks follicle development, granulosa cell activity, testicular Sertoli function, and maternal markers evaluated during second-trimester prenatal screening studies. Mouse models remain the primary experimental system for these investigations because of conserved subunit biology and the availability of genetic tools.

Each kit contains pre-coated plate wells and reagents for a quantitative immunoassay, with results captured through absorbance readout on a standard plate reader. Typical applications include tracking hormone fluctuations across the estrous cycle, comparing gonadectomized versus intact animals, evaluating gonadotoxin exposure, and characterizing knockout or transgenic strains that perturb inhibin subunit expression.

Configured for research use only, the Assay Genie kit supports studies of ovarian reserve, testicular function, placental biology, and reproductive toxicology. The assay integrates into most core facility workflows using standard absorbance instrumentation, without requiring specialized equipment beyond a conventional plate reader.
