Mouse IL-6ra ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit enables quantitative detection of mouse IL-6ra in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, using a colorimetric detection method. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Interleukin-6 receptor subunit alpha, also known by the synonyms IL-6R 1, CD126, Il6r, and sIL-6R. Optical density is measured at 450 nm on a micro-plate reader.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 40.5pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 3.4%, and an inter-assay CV of 6.9%. Recovery is reported at 82% (range 80-88%) for serum and 84% (range 80-90%) for plasma. Linearity has been established across the following dilutions and sample matrices: serum (N=5) at 1:2 92-102%, 1:4 110-120%, 1:8 103-113%, 1:16 97-106%; EDTA plasma (N=5) at 1:2 81-91%, 1:4 95-105%, 1:8 97-106%, 1:16 82-92%; and heparin plasma (N=5) at 1:2 105-114%, 1:4 95-105%, 1:8 87-97%, 1:16 110-120%.

IL-6Rα is a single-pass type I membrane protein belonging to the type I cytokine receptor family (type 3 subfamily). It forms part of the receptor for interleukin 6, binding IL6 with low affinity but requiring association with IL6ST for signal activation. The receptor has been implicated in regulation of the immune response, acute-phase reactions, and hematopoiesis, making it a relevant target within immunology research.
