Description

A sandwich-format ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse IL-31ra (interleukin-31 receptor subunit alpha). The colorimetric assay is reactive with mouse samples and validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The kit specifically detects natural and recombinant mouse interleukin-31 receptor subunit alpha (UniProt Q8K5B1) and is intended for research use in immunology applications. The target protein, also known by synonyms including GLM-R, Gp130-like monocyte receptor, and NR10, has a reported molecular weight of 59.2.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 7.93 pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.3% and inter-assay CV is 8.1%. Dilutional linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16. Recovery averages 84% (range 80-90%) for serum and 86% (range 80-92%) for plasma.

The IL-31 receptor subunit alpha associates with OSMR to form the interleukin-31 receptor, which activates STAT3 and, to a lesser extent, STAT1 and STAT5. The receptor has been implicated in skin immunity, mediates IL-31-induced itch in a manner dependent on TRPA1 and TRPV1 cation channels, and supports the survival and cycling of immature myeloid progenitor cells in bone marrow.
